Chapter 72: First We Build A Fire follows Brown’s exploits from late 1957 into 1958, during which time he was employed as a consultant at privately-funded laboratory operated by industrialist Agnew Bahnson, Jr. This may be one of the best-known periods of Brown’s life and work, owing in part to the existence of a 16mm film depicting some of the experiments conducted during this period. It is also the period in which Brown began developing one of his most important innovations, something called a "flame jet generator," which might be one of the most lasting facets of the Townsend Brown legacy.
