Bob Dylan - It's All Over Now, Baby Blue

By popular request: over the years, MANY songs have been mentioned as seeming pertinent to our story. Some might show up in the soundtrack when the movie gets made. So, what songs do you think we should keep in mind? Each song can have its own thread in this forum, along with links to lyrics and/or YouTube files. Have fun.

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last.
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast.
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun,
Crying like a fire in the sun.
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense.
Take what you have gathered from coincidence.
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets.
The sky, too, is folding over you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

All your seasick sailors, they're all rowing home.
Your empty handed army, is all going home.
Your lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor.
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you.
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you.
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore.
Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

Awesome song. Gives me chills. Now I know the origin of that phrase.

(I know, I'm a GenX, I don't have a musical education. 'Talk about Dylan and he thinks I mean Dylan Thomas, whoever he was. Man ain't got no culture.')

Even though it's 20 years anachronistic, I can hear it playing as Townsend and Twigsnapper parachute into Germany 1945.
Going on a journey, somewhere far out east
We'll find the time to show you, wonders never cease
