So, is that when you joined the Caroline Group Mr. Twigsnapper? When you answered "Yes Sir" to Dr. Brown? Is that all it really took or had you been working for them all along. I take it that you had gotten into intelligence work somewhere along the line pretty early and I guess stayed in it.

So, besides blowing up freight trains and bridges and escorting visiting scientists, what else did you do?

And how come this particular organization found you and picked you out? Oh, I am sure tht you have been the perfect man for the job, then and now but I wondered what gave them the idea that you were the guy?

I just wondered what it might be like for a modern Caroline member to be "recruited" and how do you know if you would be right for the job. In fact, how would THEY know. And its interesting to think about being on the other end of that stick. What it would be like to try to find " just the right people for the important work htat they do.

So we get ORiley up off of his knees and out of the mud. Now what Paul??????? Kidding. Waiting as patiently as possible here! Victoria

response to my own question

So, I asked ...."Now what?" from Paul but of course will only really get an answer when he writes more.

But I did find this, which is the charming picture of Dr. Brown and our Mr. Twigsnapper/ORiley in Paris! Ten years later! Try this!

I do have some pictures of that age (and it does seem a different age ago) and I would be happy to get those to you. You decide what to do with them or if they would be a help to you. I don't believe that the family has copies but they may.

I just thought that the pictures might help you because I know that you worry about being factual in your presentation. So I need to present myself a little better. I am the fellow to Dr. Browns left in that one shot. Don't recall what we were laughing over at that particular moment. Wish I did.

OK kids, here is the picture that Mr. Twigsnapper is referring to

As I understand it, it's pretty rare for guys operating in these circles to be photographed together. But since Mr. B is deceased and Mr. T is, umm, considerably older nowadays, I don't suppose there is any harm done in posting a photo like this.

--PS (AND I THINK PROBABLY ITS OK IF WE POST IT AGAIN? VICTORIA)

I always liked that picture. First of all because its a good one of Dr. Brown. He seems pleased with his life at that moment. And of course its important to have a visual on you Mr. Twigsnapper/ORiley because as the story progresses its nice to be able to figure what you looked like.

But I'll just bet that your " look" was entirely different in this shot. My mental image of you Mr. Twigsnapper was sort of a red headed ruffian. Here you look .... slick, sophisticated, much darker haired.

So, can I ask? How long did you "look like this". I am assuming that you guys can look alot different in different circumstances. You said you could" blend in" almost anywhere. I don't know about that.

And can you tell me which ship the sailors are from? If they indeed are actually sailors? And I wonder too. Just why the picture was taken? As Paul said, its unusual for a group with these kinds of credentials to be together like this. Of course maybe they are laughing because the sign behind them sounds suspiciously like ( when you sound it out) like something that they might have been thinking and laughing about? grinder
