What Should I Be Listening To?

A place to engage extended discussions of things that come up on the ttbrown.com website. Anything goes here, as long as it's somehow pertinent to the subject(s) at hand.

What Should I Be Listening To?

Post by Paul S. »

Hey Kids...

You all know I'm going to take myself on a bit of a road trip starting Friday or Saturday. Just gonna climb in behind the wheel and.... head over the horizon.

Care to suggest some tunes for my iPod?

I thought I'd start out with Harry Nilsson's "Everybody's Talkin' At Me." You know, the one with the line about "...going where the weather suits my clothes...." That should give you some idea which direction I'm likely heading...

Kevin.b, you especially... you've provided so many links to YouTube stuff... line up 'em all up for me.

The rest of you, please... make some suggestions. If I don't already have it in my collection, I'll pull 'em down from iTunes...

Thanks!

Wouldn't have made it this far if I wasn't pretty well tuned into that.

Well, except for all the static I pick up some times..<g>

Excellent. My All Time Favorite Stones song.

Already got it in the collection, too.

Keep 'em coming!

...everybody for the suggestions.

I had many of the tunes already. Bought a few more on iTunes. Have playlist of two dozen tracks. Figure to just put on shuffle in the morning and.... off we go.

OK
Here is the album for you to listen to, but only in an area where beauty is so bountiful that it transposes the dimension of Vanilla and Roses.

The Magnificent Void by Steve Roach.

I know you're gone already..... happy trails, Paul.

Michael Buble is the new sound of the era..... a touch of Sinatra with a great bass.... he's got a concert coming up on May 10th, here in LA. Maybe A Bolland will get a nice b-day present :)

You could get free music from Limewire, but then you're inviting people into your server, and you know, whomever you invite over for tea, may stay for supper... and breakfast. But it IS free.

My only suggestion, as you near Key West. remembering the lyric

http://home.att.net/~e.zeiser/lyrics/la ... _paris.htm

""For all the living legends I've had the pleasure to know. There's
still so much to be done."

I went down to Captain Tony's
To get out of the heat
Then I heard a voice call out to me
"Son come have a seat"
I had to search my memory
As I looked into those eyes
Our lives change like the weather
But a legend never dies

I realise this is out of time, but as its all about time, Guess it doesn't matter.
This should have been on the list, as you had just written the words yourself.

and of course its by the doors, perhaps you are helping Mr Huxleys doors of perception to creep open?
They will be green.

I didnt even see this thread until today. It's too late for the road trip, but it is not to late to add to the general Gravity/Space Time music list.

Close To The Edge - by YES - Always seems to do it for me.
