Re: looking forward
I am looking forward to your next post and I love what you are doing here Linda. Thanks so much for spending the time. sure :) And this is a strange comment but all I could think of was when he became " sighted " again and the comment was made that things " like fish scales" fel...

My assessment
I think that Elizabeth would say " go for it" So what was the verse so that we can look it up? It was the moment that Saul had a revelation that he was dealing with something WAY beyond his personal life. The light gives him a message. Lindab your assesment? I understand that you are a st...

Saul of Tarsus
Oh I am the wrong one to get into a discussion of phrases from the Bible. Not because I am a non believer but because I just have not read the Bible that much. Help please from those of you out there who are Biblical scholars. Lindab? You are well versed in so many things ( oh, pun! Didn't mean to ...

don't know anything 'bout the subject
but found this interesting: In the night of 7 June 1999 a young Dutchman noticed a small, pinkish-white light in the sky, which was moving and seemed quite close. In just a few seconds it took on an elliptical shape, and hovered about three metres above the ground, while the faint light shone down o...

More Chinese fun
I finished making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies this evening and had 1 or 4 (just kidding, Andy, I just had 2). So I have sugar in me, and I have to eliminate this energy somehow. I've thought of a few more homonym examples for Mikado. I wonder if it's the same in Japanese, Vietnamese, and other as...

The nature of Chinese
Mikado, you asked me: Okay Linda, I am a little on the dumb side when it comes to English let alone Chinese <g> but help me out here. A homonym, at least I thought, were words that sound alike and are spelled alike, unlike a homophone which sound alike but are spelled differently but all have differ...

Her protection
...Oh, and I have said it before in this forum, Linda Brown, if I were her, would be very careful of who/whom I would open to. She has knowledge, knowingly or unknowingly and she should be careful. No wonder Morgan went east with her, and that is probably only one of the reasons but an important on...

Buddhist/Taoist Symbols
As for the third eye, it is also in Panel 5. However, I didn't know that bamboo and/or a bird signified life. What belief structure is this? Not a belief structure, my friend. When you say the word Bamboo and bird in chinese, the homonym of those words sound like life, and longevitiy. It is also a ...

Just a thought
That thumpstick can't be as old as a Ming dynasty heirloom.... but wherever it came from, it was carved by a professional (could also be forged, but I doubt it). In the last few decades, it was essentially illegal to import ivory (which usually came from Africa) because of the UN ban on importation....

Limes, Sodas, and other 'weighty' subjects
Mr. Twigsnapper! This is fortuitous; I was just thinking about you! And I was wondering when you or someone (but mostly you) were going to jump in about the lime comment. Hit me like a ten ton brick  I would like to weigh in on the cane, if I may... It may be Tibetan, but if it is as heavy as ...

THANK YOU MIKADO and LADYGRADY. That exchange was real funny. While we're on the topic, I am sure my husband would like a few questions answered too... lots of blanks on his page!!!

Alfie the movie
I don't know if we will ever hear of "alfie" again. Interesting name. Wasn't there a movie out about that time by the name of Alfie? Victoria Yup. August 1966. Five Oscar Nominations, and six or seven wins in various other awards stuff. Michael Caine is Alfie, a womanising man who doesn't...

Alfie
Paul S. This was a well written chapter. I liked how you incorporated a little bit of history into the scenario and transitioned it into the story. The first two paragraphs would make good screenplay material... That's what screenwriters do... (I took 1 class a long long long time ago; it was fun~) ...

Re: deceptively simply and quickly read - from LadyGrady
I notice strange numbers. This is the first chapter that has jumped so quickly in "views" up to over 400 tonight and gaining quickly. One wonders why that is, when all of the others have risen slowly but surely, this has doubled overnight and I will be curious to see how the numbers progr...

Tesla and the MOVIE "The Prestige"
I have this incredible sense of Deja Vu; that we talked about this somewhere before... but I cannot access the main ttbrown.com page so I cannot search for this discussion that I think we have had. SO, here it goes right here. Did anyone ever see that movie "The Prestige"? It came out Octo...
